Background Noise Ink is the creative home of Lisa Burdige and John Hazard. Partners in love and art, they are the co-creators of Background Noise Comic, which has almost 25K followers on Instagram, and was nominated for a Ringo Award. Lisa is an award-winning writer whose stories, plays, poetry, and essays have been published in anthologies and magazines. She’s a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, Women in Comics Collective, and Brooklyn Speculative Fiction Writers. When she’s not creating art herself, she’s helping others realize their artistic goals as a Creative Coach. John is an award-winning comic artist, children’s book illustrator, animator, and arts educator. For more than a decade, he worked on art and animation for online, on-air and gaming projects at Nickelodeon. He’s taught at the Kubert School, Pratt Institute, and the Highlights Foundation (with Lisa). Other notable comic projects include the award-winning newspaper strip Schmooze or Lose and his first webcomic creation, Frankenstein Superstar, which he wrote and drew.
